Defending the Sanctity of Life

Michigan families believe in protecting the most vulnerable. Al Lemmo is unapologetically pro-life and will fight in Congress to defend the unborn while standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Michigan mothers, children, and
families.

Even after Michigan’s recent legal changes, there is still important work Congress can do to protect life, support women, and ensure taxpayers are not forced to fund abortion.

Defending the Unborn
As your Congressman, Al Lemmo will:
 

  • Oppose the use of federal tax dollars to fund abortion providers serving Michigan.

  • Support federal protections for babies born alive after attempted abortions.

  • Back reasonable national limits on late-term abortions

  • Protect conscience rights for Michigan doctors, nurses, and faith-based hospitals.

 

Standing With Michigan Mothers

Being pro-life means delivering real help, not just rhetoric.

  • Expand access to prenatal and maternal care in Michigan, especially in underserved and rural communities.

  • Support and protect Michigan pregnancy resource centers that provide diapers, ultrasounds, parenting classes, and counseling.

  • Increase support for community health centers across Southeast Michigan and beyond.

  • Promote policies that lower the cost of raising a family in Michigan.

 

Strengthening Adoption in Michigan
Too many Michigan families face unnecessary barriers to adoption.
As your Congressman, Al Lemmo will:
 

  •  Provide federal tax relief and incentives to make adoption more affordable

  • Streamline interstate adoption processes that affect Michigan families


Protecting the Vulnerable
A culture of life must protect people at every stage. As your Congressman, Al Lemmo will:

  • Oppose assisted suicide and expand access to palliative and hospice care.

  • Support faith-based and private adoption agencies serving our communities.

  • Protect individuals with disabilities from discrimination before and after birth.

  • Work with Michigan faith groups, nonprofits, and local leaders to support mothers in crisis.

Washington politicians want to impose radical environmental mandates that drive up energy prices, destroy manufacturing jobs, and make America dependent on China.
 

Michigan families deserve something different.
 

My environmental policy protects our water, our land, and our jobs without sacrificing our economy.
 

Protect the Great Lakes - Not Foreign Polluters
The Great Lakes are Michigan’s greatest natural resource. But Washington politicians talk about climate while  ignoring real threats. It's time to:
 

  • Stop invasive species like Asian carp before they devastate the Great Lakes.

  • Hold polluters accountable for contaminating our water.

  • Invest in real cleanup projects instead of bureaucratic climate programs.


Protecting the Great Lakes should be about results, not political slogans.

Clean Water Without Government Failure
Michigan families remember what happens when government incompetence fails to protect drinking water.
Washington politicians respond with more bureaucracy instead of solutions. It's time to:
 

  • Upgrade aging water infrastructure across mid-Michigan.

  • Replace failing pipes before communities face another crisis.

  • Give states and local governments the tools to fix problems quickly.​

Comparing Plans: Michigan's Economy

For too long, Washington politicians have pushed policies that look good in press releases but hurt working families in Genesee, Saginaw, Bay, and Midland counties.

Michigan’s 8th District needs a representative who will fight for local jobs, lower costs, and American manufacturing, not more bureaucracy and inflation. The result of Rep. McDonald-Rivet's Record is mid-Michigan manufacturers face higher costs and more uncertainty.

  • Make small business tax cuts permanent

  • Expand the 20% small business deduction

  • For every regulation instituted, two must be removed

  • Simpler federal permitting

  • Sided with Washington bureaucracies over Mid-Michigan

 

My opponent’s policies have left local businesses in Flint, Bay City, and Saginaw struggling to expand and hire.

  • Expand apprenticeships

  • Support skilled trades

  • Strengthen career and technical education

  • Partner with local manufacturers

  • Supports policies that push four-year degrees over trades
